In a warm and touching atmosphere, the young artists of the theater showcased their talents, while the founders of the theater, Yerbol Kokenov and Rukhabza Kaldarbek, expressed gratitude to the regional leadership on behalf of the children and shared their achievements. – Dear parents, teachers! Dear golden children. Today, meeting with you, I am moved. Our resilient, life-loving children are stepping into the world of art and delighting us with their achievements. The work of parents and teachers is hard to put into words. You are truly resilient, merciful people. The President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, constantly pays attention to supporting an inclusive society and improving education, and the state provides appropriate support. In this direction, work is also being carried out in our region. We are proud of such talented children as you. I wish the theater creative success and good luck. May our talented children perform on the stages of the republic! – said Nuralkhan Kosherov, talking to each child and wishing them success.
Parents expressed gratitude to the regional leadership for the conditions created for developing the creative abilities of special children.
The inclusive theater 'Dara Urpak' was officially opened on December 17, 2025. With the support of the regional akimat, the theater was provided with the necessary building. Opened last year, the theater has now become an effective platform for socializing children and youth with special needs through art. This is the first inclusive theater in Turkistan Region and one of the first unique teams in Kazakhstan that professionally works with children with mixed diagnoses. The main goal of the theater is to unlock the creative potential of children and youth with special needs and enable them to fully integrate into society.
Today, about 100 special children with Down syndrome, autism and ASD, cerebral palsy, and speech disorders are engaged in the theater. Along with acting, vocals, choreography, and para-dance, professional specialists including psychologists, neuropsychologists, neurologists, defectologists, and ABA therapists provide services.
The results of the first six months of the theater's work clearly demonstrated its social significance. According to the study, while at the initial stage most children avoided communicating with others, today almost all of them have fully adapted to collective creative work. The children's emotional stability has increased, and their speech skills, movement coordination, and level of social interaction have improved.
In addition, it has positively affected the psychological state of parents, strengthening their confidence in their children's future. This shows that the theater has become a project of not only creative but also great social and educational importance.
During the meeting, the regional akim also familiarized himself with the theater's future plans. In the future, the team plans to organize tour trips to the districts of Turkistan Region and perform in Shymkent, Taraz, and Kyzylorda. There are also plans to create the first orchestra in Kazakhstan composed of special children.
