An 18-year-old man lost both legs after an accident on a ride at the Arai city park in Kyzylorda, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to the regional multidisciplinary hospital, the victim was brought to the medical facility by an ambulance team in extremely critical condition.
“A patient born in 2007 was urgently taken into surgery. Amputation of the left leg at the level of the upper third of the thigh and amputation of the right leg at the ankle joint were performed,” said the hospital’s chief physician, Zhasulan Baimakhanov.
Doctors report that the young man’s condition remains extremely serious and unstable due to the injuries sustained.
The incident occurred on June 15 at the Arai park. Video from the scene spread on social media. According to eyewitnesses, the man’s legs got caught in the ride’s mechanism.
After the incident, social media users began spreading information about the urgent need for blood donation for the victim.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
