Suspect detained in Akmola Region for stabbing former classmate

A young man has been detained in Akmola Region on suspicion of stabbing his former classmate.

According to police, on April 24, an 18-year-old local resident was taken to a medical facility in Makinsk with knife wounds. A criminal case has been opened. The suspect is the victim's former classmate; he has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Currently, investigative measures are underway to fully and comprehensively clarify the circumstances of the incident.

It was also reported that the progress of the investigation is under the control of the leadership of the regional police department. In accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other information is not disclosed.

According to local sources, the incident occurred at a stadium during a volleyball game. A young man in a mask approached, sprayed pepper gas in the face of an 11th-grade student, and then stabbed him several times in the neck and abdomen. After that, he fled the scene.
