The President thanked the President of Mongolia for accepting the invitation and making a state visit to our country, as well as for his intention to participate in the Regional Environmental Summit.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev fondly recalled his state visit to Mongolia in October 2024, noting that it resulted in many agreements and that bilateral relations were elevated to the level of strategic partnership.
– Our trade and economic cooperation is strengthening. There are a number of achievements. Trade turnover is growing year by year. We plan to launch specific projects in the industrial sector. Today, a Kazakh-Mongolian business forum will be held in our capital. Many companies from Mongolia will participate. We fully support this. I express my gratitude for the support from your side, – said the Head of State.
Last year, trade volume between Kazakhstan and Mongolia increased by 7.7 percent and exceeded 130 million dollars.
Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh expressed confidence that as a result of this visit, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation of the two peoples will be further strengthened, and called Kazakhstan Mongolia's first strategic partner in Central Asia.
– We give special priority in our foreign policy to further strengthening friendly relations, as well as expanding the scope of trade and economic cooperation. Over the past two years, we have undertaken many common tasks and raised our mutual partnership to a new level. Legislative bodies play a special role in strengthening trust ties between the two countries. The potential for mutual partnership is great. Within the framework of your visit to our country in 2024, a roadmap for revitalizing trade and economic cooperation between Mongolia and Kazakhstan for 2025-2027 was signed. Now the task is to bring mutual trade turnover to 500 million dollars, – said the President of Mongolia.
Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh congratulated the President of Kazakhstan on the successful holding of the national referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution and expressed confidence that this historic event will serve as a foundation for Kazakhstan's growth and prosperity, building a society based on the rule of law.
