Kazakhstan rowers win 6 medals at Asian Cup

The Kazakhstan national team won two gold, three silver and one bronze medals at the Asian Cup in South Korea, entering the top five teams of the continent.

The final competitions of the Asian Cup in rowing have ended in Chungju, South Korea. 383 athletes from 15 countries took part in the major tournament, reports Todayinfo news agency.

The Kazakhstan national team showed high skill and won six medals. The best result was shown by Ivan Chernukhin and Vladislav Yakovlev, who won gold in the men's double sculls. Together with Alexey Krasnovsky and Vladislav Galkin, they also won the men's quadruple sculls, earning a second gold.

Lightweight athletes also showed a high level. The duo of Bauyrzhan Sultanov and Alexander Afanasyev, the women's pair of Maria Chernets and Ekaterina Noskova, as well as Artem Matusevich in single sculls became silver medalists. The only bronze medal was won by Roza Kenes in women's single sculls.

Fourth places were taken by Bapan Askhanbek, Anastasia Kulinich, men's quadruple sculls and women's quadruple sculls. In the final ranking, Kazakhstan took fourth place. The tournament winner is the Hong Kong team with five gold medals, second and third places were shared by rowers from Vietnam and South Korea.
