The international ethno-festival 'Khan Tengri Treasure' dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Almaty region, held in the Raiymbek district, became not only a celebration of national culture but also one of the main platforms for the republican environmental campaign 'Taza Kazakhstan', reports Todayinfo news agency.
Over 25,000 people participated in the three-day anniversary, actively engaging in activities aimed at nature protection and fostering ecological culture. To ensure cleanliness at the festival site, 105 bio-toilets and 75 waste containers were installed, and 3 special vehicles were deployed.
110 volunteers, local residents, and youth actively participated in the environmental campaign. 1,000 bags and 1,000 pairs of gloves were used for cleaning, resulting in the collection of about 7 tons of solid household waste, which was taken to a special landfill. Additionally, 20 information banners were placed across a total area of 116,480 square meters.
Waste containers were installed every five kilometers along the 28-kilometer road from the village of Tuzkol to the Shalkode pasture where the festival took place, providing convenience for visitors. According to the organizers, these measures helped preserve the cleanliness of the natural area and foster responsible ecological behavior among the public.
Thousands of guests from all over Kazakhstan and abroad attended the international ethno-festival combined with the 'Taza Kazakhstan' campaign. About 150 white yurts were set up in the Shalkode pasture, featuring exhibitions of crafts, ethno-design, fine arts, national cuisine, and agricultural products. Alongside Kazakh masters, artisans from China, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Georgia presented their works.
The program included national sports competitions, historical and educational exhibitions, ethno-villages, and cultural events. The 'Karkaraly' nomadic migration, which widely promoted the nomadic civilization of the Kazakhs, drew special attention. Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev attended the opening ceremony and conveyed congratulations from Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Almaty region governor Marat Sultangaziyev in his speech highlighted the historical and cultural heritage and tourism potential of the Raiymbek district, emphasizing its special place in Kazakh spirituality. The three-day anniversary featured the II Republican aitys of schoolchildren in memory of Orazaly Dosbosynov in Karasaz village, a scientific and educational conference dedicated to the work of Mukagali Makataev in Narynkol, and a gala concert in the district center. The festive events concluded with the republican horse race 'Zholan zhyirigi' and national sports competitions in the Shalkode pasture.
