The issue of introducing a visa-free regime with the European Union for Kazakhstan citizens remains on the agenda, reports the website Todayinfo.kz.
Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yerlan Zhetibayev, did not rule out the possibility of Kazakhstan reaching an agreement on a visa-free regime with the EU during a briefing. He urged Kazakh citizens to first wait for the signing of an agreement on simplifying the visa regime, as negotiations on a full visa-free regime can only proceed afterward.
"Let us sign the agreement. This will be a major step for both our side and the Europeans. It will facilitate our citizens' travels. Only after that will we return to the issue (of a visa-free regime). As a foreign policy agency, we are constantly working to create the most favorable agreements and conditions for our citizens' travels abroad. Work is being carried out with all foreign partners. There are signed agreements, as well as unilateral agreements," said Zhetibayev.
