Important personnel changes have occurred in Kazakhstan's construction industry: the 'Union of Builders of Kazakhstan' has been headed by a new generation manager Akan Bakytzhan, reports the news agency Todayinfo.

On April 27, 2026, at a meeting in Astana, Akan Bakytzhan was elected president of the Republican Public Association 'Union of Builders of Kazakhstan'. At the same time, Talgat Yergaliyev remained chairman of the union's presidium, having led the association for many years and contributed greatly to turning it into one of the key platforms of the construction market.

Akan Bakytzhan is a new generation manager in the construction industry. His professional career began with engineering work: over the years, he worked as a quality engineer, state construction inspector, headed the estimate department of the Construction Department of Astana, and held leadership positions in state and corporate structures. Since 2020, he has been heading the group of companies The Akan Building.

The new president has specialized education in the construction field: in 2007, he graduated from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University with a degree in 'construction machinery and technology'. In 2014, he earned a Bachelor of Laws from Maqsut Narikbayev University (formerly KAZGUU University), and in 2016, an MBA in business administration from the same university.

'For me, leading the Union of Builders of Kazakhstan is a great responsibility. This association represents the interests of one of the key sectors of the country's economy. Construction today is a driver of economic growth, creates jobs, and directly affects the quality of life of citizens. We plan to systematically protect the interests of union members, including the largest employers, and strengthen their representation in expert and public-business discussions. I also consider it an important task for the union to actively participate in shaping decisions that affect the development of the industry: at the platforms of the NCE 'Atameken', urban planning councils, discussions of master plans, and other strategic issues. The union should be a platform where the voice of the professional community is heard and taken into account,' said Akan Bakytzhan.

The 'Union of Builders of Kazakhstan' unites over 1,700 construction companies across the country and is one of the largest industry associations in Kazakhstan.
