On the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory, servicemen of military unit 5571 visited the home of Zulqarnay Seitov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a prominent scientist, and an academician, to pay their respects, reports Todayinfo.
A letter of gratitude and gifts were presented to the 104-year-old veteran on behalf of the unit commander. During the event, a military orchestra performed patriotic songs, and soldiers marched in a solemn parade.
Zulqarnay Seitov fought on the Leningrad Front during the Great Patriotic War and participated in battles from Stalingrad to Berlin. For his bravery, he was awarded several orders and medals.
After the war, he dedicated himself to science and achieved great success in biochemistry. He is the author of more than 150 scientific works and monographs, a Doctor of Biological Sciences, a professor, and an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The instructive meeting helped young soldiers understand the meaning of patriotism and courage, and increased their respect for the older generation.
