A large-scale musical flash mob titled 'Kazakhstan is Our Common Home' took place at the EXPO International Exhibition Center in Astana. About 2,000 students from city schools participated, simultaneously performing the kui 'Altyn Uya' by renowned composer Karshyga Akhmedyarov.
The students played national and classical instruments such as dombra, kobyz, kyl-kobyz, zhetygen, sazsyrnai, flute, and violin. The flash mob involved pupils from art and music schools, as well as general education institutions, aged 10 to 16.
According to the organizers, the main goal was to convey the idea of 'Kazakhstan is Our Common Home' through music. The sounds of various instruments merged into a single stream, symbolizing the unity of the multinational country.
Participants shared that performing 'Altyn Uya' allowed them to feel love for their native land. The kui is known as a piece embodying longing for the homeland and affection for one's native region.
