Accident at KAZ Minerals mine in East Kazakhstan: worker dies under rubble

On April 27, a rock collapse at a KAZ Minerals mine in East Kazakhstan region left one worker dead and another injured, reports Todayinfo news agency.

On April 27, a rock collapse occurred at the mine of the Orlovsky production complex in the Borodulikha district of the East Kazakhstan region (part of the KAZ Minerals group), reports Todayinfo news agency.

According to preliminary data, two workers were trapped under the rubble. One of them died at the scene, the other was found and handed over to medics. Police have opened a criminal case. A special commission is investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident.

This is not the first tragic incident at the Orlovsky mine. Previously, a worker died there from carbon dioxide poisoning after blasting operations.
