The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a resolution to change the borders of Aktau in the Mangystau region. The document was signed on April 23, reports Todayinfo.
Under the decision, lands of the Mangystau region totaling 94,642.2062 hectares have been included within the city limits. These include lands from the Caspian Sea water fund. This will nearly triple Aktau's territory.
Earlier, the government also changed the borders of Zhanaozen in the same region. The new borders are expected to create conditions for urban development and infrastructure expansion.
