An event in Almaty, "Heroes of Our Time," celebrated the bravery of three National Guard servicemen who displayed heroism during peacetime.

National Guard Heroes Honored in Almaty: How Did They Show Bravery?

An event titled "Heroes of Our Time" was held at the S. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty, reports Todayinfo. The main goal of the event was to honor National Guard servicemen who demonstrated heroism in peacetime and to promote the importance of serving society.

Major Zhandos Bayanbayev, Senior Sergeant Orken Mazhit, and Private Tolenbi Abilda, whose heroic deeds are remembered by the nation, were specially invited to the meeting. During the solemn ceremony, the servicemen who showed courage and selflessness in the performance of their official duties were awarded letters of appreciation from Major General Sakentai Shekarbekov, Commander of the "Ontustik" Regional Command, and from the Rector of the S. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

Speakers at the event included Colonel Timur Rakhimov, Head of the Department for Educational and Socio-Legal Work of the "Ontustik" Regional Command of the National Guard; Colonel Nurlan Sybanbekuly of the medical service, Head of the University's Military Department; and school student Arnay Zhorabek.

Colonel Timur Rakhimov, in his speech, elaborated on the specific heroic acts of the award recipients. According to him, one of them protected a colleague in a dangerous situation, another prevented a legal offense, and a third contributed to stopping the spread of drugs among teenagers.

The event was attended by servicemen from the Almaty garrison of the National Guard, faculty and students of the higher education institution, as well as schoolchildren from Almaty city and Almaty region. A concert program dedicated to the heroism of the servicemen was organized at the end of the event.

It is worth noting that approximately 2000 servicemen from military units under the "Ontustik" Regional Command of the National Guard serve daily to ensure public safety. They take risks and perform responsible duties in protecting the tranquility of citizens.
