Another worker has died at the KAZ Minerals mine in the East Kazakhstan Region, reports Todayinfo.
It is with deep sorrow that we report that on May 30, at approximately 8:30 PM, an employee of "Vostoktsvetmet" LLP's Artemyevsk mine died as a result of a rockfall. This is a heavy loss for the entire team. We mourn with the family, relatives, and loved ones of our colleague. The company will provide all necessary assistance and support to the family, – the company stated.
All work at the site where the tragic incident occurred has been immediately halted. An investigation into the circumstances and causes of the incident is underway, involving competent specialists and representatives of authorized bodies.
It is extremely important for the company to establish a complete picture of what happened and to understand what additional measures are needed to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Andrey Tretyakov, Chairman of the Board of KAZ Minerals Group, is in constant contact with members of the specially created commission and is heading to the scene, – KAZ Minerals concluded.<
It is worth noting that on May 9, a mechanic also fell from a height and died at the same mine. Previously, there have been reports of workers dying at mines in the East Kazakhstan Region.
