The BalhashTourFest festival in the Karaganda region expects a record number of guests this summer, reports Todayinfo. The event, which will take place on June 19 and 20 in the Rembaza area of Akshagyl village, attracted over 50,000 people last year.
This year, the organizers hope to surpass that record. Irina Lyubarskaya, Head of the Tourism Department of Karaganda Region, emphasized the festival's importance for the region.
We are holding Balkhash Tour Fest for the fourth consecutive year. This is an anchor project that develops beach tourism and enhances the attractiveness of the Balkhash region. The number of participants grows annually. Last year, the festival gathered over 50,000 people, and even more guests are expected this year. Furthermore, Balkhash Tour Fest has been included in the republican calendar of events.
The main news this year is that the festival grounds will operate throughout the summer. On weekends, concerts, sports competitions, and entertainment events for holidaymakers will be held here and at cultural venues in Balkhash city.
The organizers have prepared a rich program. Popular Kazakh artists Miras Zhugunussov, AYAU, Bellucci, Domino, Nurlan & Murat, and Qazaq Band will perform. Creative and sports zones, food courts, an artisan fair, an open-air cinema, and family recreation areas will be opened on the festival grounds.
Renat Almanov, organizer of Balkhash Tour Fest, spoke about the event's unique features.
Guests will be greeted by an interactive LED-arch at the entrance. The program also includes foam parties, jarkocross, water taxis, PikeMan races, artificial intelligence and craft games. Special attention is paid to ecology and waste processing. Tournaments in street basketball, panna football, and dance battles will continue. The winner of one of them will have the opportunity to represent Kazakhstan at an international street dance festival.
A separate program has been developed for children with animators and characters from the popular cartoon "Masha and the Bear." Sports enthusiasts can look forward to beach volleyball, arm wrestling, national hydrosports, regatta, and sailing master classes.
The festival territory is also undergoing transformation. The installation of a drip irrigation system for a new alley, planted in spring as part of an environmental campaign, has been completed here. Now, trees will be watered regularly, which will help preserve the green zone and make the area even more comfortable for residents and tourists to relax.
