In Turkistan region, police solved a safe burglary after the crime was captured on surveillance cameras. One of the suspects had to be tracked down in Astana, reports Todayinfo citing the regional police department.
The incident occurred in Kentau. According to case materials, two men entered the yard of a private house in the evening, broke a plastic window, and took a safe. The victim stated that the safe contained $300 and gold items worth about four million tenge.
“A set of operational search activities was carried out, including reviewing surveillance camera footage. The suspects were identified within 24 hours. One was detained in a rented apartment in Shymkent, the other was found in Astana and brought to the police station. A pre-trial investigation is underway,” the police department reported.
After giving confessions, it became known that the jewelry had been pawned. The suspects are in custody.
