A gas explosion occurred at a dairy plant in the village of Zhibek Zholy, Akmola region. Two employees were injured and hospitalized as a result of the incident, reports Todayinfo.
The incident took place at an enterprise in the Arshaly district. The blast did not cause a fire or structural damage, but two workers sustained serious injuries. According to preliminary data from the Akmola Regional Police Department, the cause was a gas leak from a storage facility supplied from an underground reservoir at the plant.
The explosion caused thermal burns covering up to 40% of the victims' bodies, including damage to their hands, legs, and faces. The injured were taken to a hospital in the capital, where they are receiving necessary medical care.
“A pre-trial investigation is underway. The circumstances are being clarified,” the Akmola Regional Police Department reported.
