A clandestine laboratory producing synthetic drugs was liquidated in the East Kazakhstan region, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
As a result of a complex of operational-search activities, two suspects aged 26 and 22 were detained. According to the investigation, they bought a private house on the outskirts of a remote village and organized the production of narcotic drugs there.
During the search, makeshift laboratory equipment, about 70 kg of finished synthetic product (Alpha-PVP), as well as nearly 4 tons of chemical reagents and precursors were seized.
It was established that coordination of illegal activities was carried out remotely through the darknet.
According to law enforcement estimates, about 250 thousand single doses were prevented from entering illegal circulation.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Article 297-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The suspects face up to life imprisonment.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that combating drug crime remains one of the priority areas. Work to identify and suppress such facts continues.
