According to the Aktobe Regional Police Department, local resident Azat Konys posted comments on social media aimed at inciting religious hatred and enmity. During operational search activities, his identity was established and he was detained, reports Todayinfo news agency.

The suspect was immediately placed in a temporary detention facility. By court order, he was remanded in custody as a preventive measure. A criminal case has been opened under the article 'Incitement of religious hatred,' and investigative actions are underway.

Azat Konys stated on social media that string instruments, including the dombra, are haram. The video sparked widespread discussion, leading to police action. It is worth recalling that two years ago, the Sharia and Fatwa Department of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan issued a fatwa on playing the dombra. It stated: 'Songs and music that promote religion, patriotism, spirituality, unity, and morality are permitted. If music leads to debauchery, depravity, evil, or other actions prohibited by Sharia, it is forbidden. For centuries, the Kazakh people, who practice Islam, have used the national instrument — the dombra — to sing songs and perform termes, calling listeners to spirituality, goodness, morality, defense of the Motherland, and respect for parents. Therefore, playing the dombra is allowed.'
