Three suspects have been arrested in Almaty for kidnapping an 81-year-old man in an attempt to take over his apartment, reports Todayinfo news agency citing Polisia.kz.
The police were alerted by a friend of the elderly man. Officers found the victim in a suburban settlement, where he was being held by three individuals who demanded he transfer ownership of his real estate.
“The suspects — two men and a woman — have been placed in a temporary detention facility. A criminal investigation is underway,” police said.
Earlier, Todayinfo reported an attempted kidnapping of a schoolgirl in Zhambyl region and a similar case in Aktobe.
