In Kyrgyzstan, an investigation is underway following reports of a possible explosion at a metallurgical plant in the city of Shopokov. The information spread widely on social media, but official data does not confirm any fire or destruction, reports Todayinfo.

The Sokuluk District Police Department received a report about a possible explosion of an induction furnace at a metal processing plant. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but they found no signs of fire, smoke, or explosion damage. No firefighting activity was recorded either.

The plant had previously been under scrutiny by law enforcement. In January 2026, a court overturned a previous decision to halt the operation of induction furnaces, allowing the plant to resume work. However, another court ruling regarding the demolition of an unauthorized structure and the cessation of the plant's activities has been appealed and is currently under review.

The investigation will determine whether the incident was real or a false alarm, with a procedural decision expected to clarify the situation.
