An illegal migration channel has been shut down in the Pavlodar region, reports Todayinfo. Criminal police operatives conducted a special operation and thwarted an attempt to organize illegal transit.
According to the police, an Uzbek citizen was detained for transporting his compatriots through Russia to Kazakhstan in a MAN truck. The smuggler was apprehended during the special operation.
During the inspection of the vehicle, operatives discovered a specially equipped secret compartment designed for the clandestine transportation of people. The vehicle was seized and sent to a special impound lot. An investigation is underway against the organizer, — the police statement said.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of organizing illegal migration. The investigation is ongoing.
