In the "Myrzakhan" farm located in the Labasy rural district, 85 hectares of land are being sown with grain corn. This farm has been working in cooperation with Global Agro Company LLP for four years. By consulting with the company's agronomists and using its seeds and mineral fertilizers, they have achieved good productivity. Using this farm as an example, the head of the regional agriculture department, Nurdaulen Kenenbaev, reported on the work being carried out in the region on sowing grain corn.
- In general, this year in the region, we are sowing grain corn as a priority crop on 5,000 hectares more than last year. This is because there is demand for this product from processing plants and poultry farms. Moreover, to increase the productivity of this corn crop, we are working with several companies and applying various agricultural technologies. Among them, the "Myrzakhan" farm, using the new seeds and new agricultural technology of the "Global Agro" company, last year achieved a yield of 140 centners per hectare, which is a record indicator for the region. This year, as an experiment, we are sowing 10 hectares with Chinese seeds. The peculiarity of these seeds is their good resistance to various weather difficulties and a potential of 15 tons. They have their own mixture of mineral fertilizers. This greatly influences the formation of the grain corn root system and its growth in the initial phase, - said Nurdaulen Kenenbaev.
It is worth noting that 25 people work at the "Myrzakhan" farm. Of the farm's 97 hectares of land, 85.5 hectares are sown with grain corn, and 11.5 hectares with fodder crops. This year, they plan to harvest no less than last year – approximately 120-140 centners per hectare of corn.
Having seen the progress of work in the fields, the head of the region, Beibit Isabaev, instructed to use every spring day effectively, carry out the sowing campaign in a timely and high-quality manner, and widely disseminate to farms the effectiveness of using the capabilities of modern agricultural technologies.
Recall that this year the total sowing area will be 511.8 thousand hectares. Of these, to date, 115.4 thousand hectares have been sown with spike grain crops, 8.6 thousand hectares with grain corn, 29.5 thousand hectares with oilseeds, 1.1 thousand hectares with potatoes, 7.8 thousand hectares with sugar beets, 657 hectares with vegetables, 129 hectares with melon crops, and 23.9 thousand hectares with fodder crops.
In addition, mineral fertilizers, subsidized diesel fuel, as well as loans under the "Keng Dala" program are being provided for spring field work. Additionally, 184 pieces of equipment were purchased through the "KazAgroKarzhy" branch.
