A jackal attacked two people in the village of Shilik, Turkistan region. Social media reports indicate that the predator's victims were a two-year-old girl and a man.
The regional administration stated that the veterinary service has taken samples and is checking whether the jackal had rabies. 'The victims went to the district central hospital and received preventive rabies vaccination. Their condition is stable, and they are under medical supervision. One person is receiving treatment in the hospital,' officials added.
The area where the attack occurred and the yards of the affected residents have been disinfected — as a precaution in case the animal was indeed infected.
