A 35-year-old resident of Aktobe, Azat Konys, has been arrested after posting a video on social media in which he called the dombra, guitar, and balalaika 'haram,' citing Hanafi madhhab norms. This was reported by the police, according to Todayinfo.
The Aktobe Regional Police Department stated that the video could incite religious hatred. A criminal case has been opened against the man under the article on inciting religious enmity.
“The suspect posted statements on social media aimed at inciting hatred on religious grounds. He was identified and detained,” the department said.
Konys is currently in a temporary detention facility. The court ordered his arrest for the duration of the investigation.
