Today, a solemn ceremony was held at Atyrau International Airport to welcome Mahambet Madenov, the son of war veteran Kenjebai Madenov, reports Todayinfo.
On May 6, by Decree of the Head of State, front-line soldier Kenjebai Madenov was awarded one of Kazakhstan's highest state honors – the title of «Halyk Kaharmany» (People's Hero). He also received the «Altyn Zhuldyz» (Golden Star) insignia and the «Otan» (Fatherland) Order for his exceptional bravery.
During the solemn ceremony, Deputy Akim of the region Zhasulan Bisembiyev extended his congratulations, noting that this award is a great honor not only for the Madenov family but for the entire country. According to him, the hero's bravery and name will forever remain in the nation's memory.
In turn, Kenjebai Madenov's son, Mahambet Madenov, shared his joy and expressed gratitude.
Our family has waited a long time for this day. I still can't believe it. I express my gratitude to the state, the regional leadership, and all citizens who showed support and glorified our father's feat, - he said.
During World War II, Kenjebai Madenov participated in the «Berlin» operation and was one of the first to lead his platoon into the City Hall building in Berlin – one of the important strategic targets after the Reichstag. He displayed exceptional courage and bravery during the liberation of the building from the enemy, remaining in the nation's memory for his heroism.
The event was attended by representatives of the regional akimat, members of the veterans' council, family members, and city residents.
