A tragic road accident on the Shardara–Baiyrkum highway in Turkistan Region claimed the lives of three teenagers. A volleyball team of 8th graders from school No. 46 in Kokaral village was heading to a regional tournament in Arys when their car was hit by a truck. According to official data, a Chevrolet Cobalt car traveling in its lane was struck by a KamAZ truck moving at high speed. The impact was so strong that the car was completely destroyed; one 14-year-old boy died at the scene, and two other students succumbed to their injuries.

The athletes had set out in two cars. Eight children in the second car survived, while the 34-year-old coach accompanying the students was hospitalized with serious injuries. School teacher Aidana Tursynova recalled the deceased students as passionate about sports, well-mannered, and talented, noting that they left with great hopes for the competition. Currently, a criminal case has been opened, and the truck driver has been detained. Today, three families buried their sons, and law enforcement agencies are continuing the investigation.
