Details have emerged on how one of the main Muslim holidays, Kurban Ait, will be celebrated in Kazakhstan in 2026, reports Todayinfo. Many families have already begun preparations, planning guests, festive meals, and selecting animals for sacrifice.
According to the calendar of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK), Kurban Ait in 2026 falls on May 27. Traditionally, the holiday is celebrated for three days, from May 27 to May 29.
Kurban Ait occurs on different dates each year because its timing is determined by the Islamic lunar calendar, known as the Hijri calendar. The holiday is observed on the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah.
