A large tree fell at the intersection of Bogenbai Batyr and Begalin streets in Almaty, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to eyewitnesses, the tree fell directly onto people who barely managed to dodge it. However, the poplar branches hit parked cars, leaving scratches on their bodies. The falling tree also damaged power lines.
No casualties have been reported so far. The editorial board has sent a request to the Almaty Emergency Situations Department.
Earlier, it was reported that a fourth-grade student in Shymkent was killed by a falling tree branch. The Shymkent akimat expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
