On May 5, a major explosion occurred at the Kazzinc plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Rescuers found the bodies of two people at the scene, and several other injured individuals were hospitalized. Today, one of the severely injured employees passed away, as reported by Todayinfo.kz information portal.
Murat Nurbikenov, acting chief physician of the East Kazakhstan Regional Specialized Medical Center, had stated that 90 percent of the deceased's body was burned, and even their eyesight was damaged.
Today, the company's press service officially confirmed the employee's death.
"Kazzinc company regretfully announced that an employee who was severely injured as a result of the explosion on May 5 passed away last night," the statement read.
Currently, investigations into the aforementioned explosion are ongoing.
