Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev has advanced to the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, reports Todayinfo.
His opponent, Czech tennis player Tomas Machac, withdrew from their second-round match. Consequently, Medvedev automatically progressed to the next stage of the competition.
The reasons for Machac's withdrawal have not yet been disclosed. This situation allowed Medvedev to conserve energy for his upcoming matches in the tournament.
In the third round, Daniil Medvedev is set to face either Hamad Medjedovic of Serbia or Alejandro Tabilo of Chile.
