The meeting was attended by famous domestic writers who freely exchanged views with students. During the literary evening, the authors especially emphasized the role of reading in personal development and broadening horizons, as well as the importance of forming a reading culture in modern society.
On the eve of Book Day, a competition among students on reading the work 'Ushkan Uya' by Bauyrzhan Momyshuly was organized at the S. Utebaev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas. According to the results of the competition, the winner was the university student Akpeil Nurauletova. The award was presented to the winner by poet Erlan Zhunis, expressing his good wishes.
It is worth noting that this year in the region, the National Book Day is held for the first time in the format of a weekly program. The week began with an open-air book exhibition, which was attended by about 300 city residents. As part of the spiritual and educational events, a literary meeting 'Book – Ambassador of Friendship' was held with the participation of famous writers of the country. Also, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between four major trading platforms and well-known republican publishing houses.
Today, the series of events will end with the 'Kitap FEST' festival. The festival will feature more than 5,000 books from 9 well-known publishers at reduced prices. In addition, the best readers and book clubs noted during the year will be awarded in special nominations.
