In Atyrau, on the night of April 27-28, officers of the defense department with police support conducted raids on gaming clubs in the city, reports Todayinfo news agency.

According to an eyewitness, men of conscription age were essentially taken out of the establishments and brought to the military enlistment office without any explanation. Some tried to resist, but this did not affect the actions of the officers. Some reportedly had their mobile phones confiscated.

The Atyrau Regional Defense Department stated that these are planned activities within the framework of the 'Spring-2026' conscription campaign to update military registration data. 'The delivery of citizens is carried out strictly within the framework of the law and exclusively for undergoing the prescribed procedures,' the department reported.

However, the methods raised many questions among young people. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense explained why conscripts are taken directly from the streets. It also became known that Kazakhstan plans to create a unified register of summonses for conscripts.
