Analysts of the National Statistics Bureau recorded an increase in food consumption in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstanis eat the most potatoes — almost four kg per person per month, reports Todayinfo news agency.
In 2025, Kazakhstanis began to eat more in all key categories compared to the previous year. This is based on the results of a sample survey of households.
On average, one person per month consumes 3.8 kg of potatoes, 2.4 kg of wheat bread made from first-grade flour, and 2.1 kg of beef. Kazakhstanis also consume 1.6 kg of apples, 1.5 kg of sugar, and 1.4 kg of rice.
Among dairy products, per person per month there are 1.1 liters of raw milk and about a liter of kefir. In addition, they eat an average of 17.6 eggs and 0.9 kg of pasta. Kazakhstanis eat significantly less fish — about 0.8 kg per month. Black tea — about 100 grams.
Meat is not the first time at the top of the ranking. At the end of 2025, it turned out that the most meat is eaten in Almaty, Zhetysu, Karaganda and Akmola regions, where each resident consumes an average of 24 kg per quarter. The least is in Shymkent, only 16.1 kg per person per quarter.
