A private bailiff in Almaty has been convicted of embezzling budget funds, reports Todayinfo.
According to a prosecutor's investigation, in 2024 he illegally received 4.2 million tenge for work on enforcement proceedings for alimony collection. To obtain payments, he submitted duplicate reports for the same cases—76 reports for 47 proceedings. This allowed him to receive payment multiple times.
The court found him guilty and sentenced him to two years and four months in prison, also banning him from working as a bailiff for five years.
