The debate tournament organized by the Ulytau Regional Police Department aims to create an atmosphere of 'zero tolerance' for bullying among schoolchildren. The main goal is to strengthen the rule of law in educational institutions, increase legal literacy among adolescents, and prevent any instances of pressure among minors, reports Todayinfo.kz news agency. Establishing legal order in society is not only about punishment, but primarily about fostering culture and responsibility. The participating students split into two groups and discussed the effectiveness of domestic legislative mechanisms against bullying and the application of advanced international practices. Participants voiced specific proposals for preventing juvenile delinquency. During the meeting, the head of the Department for Coordination of Preventive Work of the Ulytau Regional Police Department, police colonel Yergali Kozhabekov, who participated as an expert, emphasized the importance of the 'Law and Order' principle within school walls:
'One of the priority areas of the internal affairs bodies is ensuring the safety of children. Today's event plays an important role in shaping the legal culture of schoolchildren. The 'Law and Order' principle should become an unshakable rule of every school. Every teenager must deeply understand not only their responsibility before the law for their actions, but also that they are protected by the law. Our goal is to form a legal consciousness in which there is no place for violence in the school environment,' the colonel noted.
Also attending the event were the chairman of the veterans' organization of the Ulytau Regional Prosecutor's Office, Yerbolat Buribayev, and the senior prosecutor of the Zhezkazgan city prosecutor's office, Ualikhan Syrlybay, who provided legal advice to the students. The experts reviewed the students' proposals and discussed possibilities for incorporating them into preventive work. At the end of the event, a number of decisions were made to strengthen interaction between law enforcement agencies and educational institutions. Work in this direction, based on the 'Law and Order' principle, will continue on an ongoing basis across the region.
