Construction of new drama theater begins in Kyzylorda

Today, with the participation of regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev, heads of law enforcement agencies, maslikhat deputies, intellectuals, and elders, a ceremony was held to lay the foundation and capsule of a new drama theater on the territory of the President's Park.
The head of the region congratulated those gathered on the start of construction of the new facility.
"Our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the final meeting of the National Kurultai in our city, noted: 'It is not for nothing that they say: "Syr eli – zhyry eli". The art of zhyrau, singers and kyuishi, dating back to the time of Korkyt Ata, is widespread in this region,' and emphasized that the construction of a new drama theater in Kyzylorda will begin this year.
The theater makes a huge contribution to preserving national identity and enriching spirituality. The regional Kazakh musical drama theater named after Nartai Bekezhanov, with a history of more than seventy years, being the cradle of Kazakh theatrical art, is an integral part of the cultural life of the Syr Darya region. Today its repertoire includes more than 60 performances. The creative team annually provides spiritual nourishment to over 70,000 spectators.
We believe that the new theater, whose foundation is being laid on the territory of the President's Park, will become a sacred place where our native art will flourish, the creative potential of the younger generation will be honed, and the soul of the nation will speak," said Nurlybek Nalibayev.
Kyzylorda is the birthplace of Kazakh theatrical art. A century ago, the first performance of the newly created national theater was staged here. The people of the Syr Darya region are proud that the national theater, which instills the noble ideals and values of the people through the stage, originates from Kyzylorda.
The laying of the foundation of a new building a century later in Kyzylorda, where the curtain of the Kazakh national professional theater first rose, has special significance.
At the ceremony, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Khuseyn Amir-Temir and General Director of VD Stroy Inzhiniring LLP Azamat Ussimbekov spoke.
It should be noted that since 2022, 22 cultural facilities have been built and put into operation in the region. "Spiritual Centers" have been opened in all districts. In the main city of the region, the "Art Center", "Bow to Mother", "Family Center", and "Palace of Schoolchildren" have been erected.
Last year, to mark the 100th anniversary of Kyzylorda becoming the capital, a new building of the regional historical and local lore museum was built, and to mark the 30th anniversary of the Assembly, with the support of Kazatomprom company, a new building of the "House of Friendship" was built. In recent years, the "Syr Zhuldyzdary" academy, "Art School" and "House of Schoolchildren" in Zhalagash, Zhanakorgan and Shieli districts have been commissioned.
Construction of the Presidential Library, which will operate around the clock, will begin soon.
