A young resident of Alakol district in Zhetysu region has reported years-long harassment by a significantly older neighbor, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to the woman, it all started when she was 16. The neighbor, approximately 45 years old and allegedly registered at a psychoneurological dispensary, first tried to strike up a conversation, then found her personal contacts and began regularly texting and calling. Despite being blocked, he continued to reach out via social media.
Over time, the situation escalated. The man's goal was marriage. After being rejected, he started causing scenes in public places and continued to pressure her. The woman also stated that the man spreads false and defamatory information about her among fellow villagers, trying to create a negative opinion. According to her, he stalks her, including waiting for her in the evenings when she returns from work, and comes to her workplace to cause scenes.
The police department reported that the video was filmed in November 2025. Local police inspectors collected the necessary materials and forwarded them for medical intervention. As a result, the man was placed in a specialized medical facility. Additionally, on April 29, police received a similar stalking complaint from a resident of Ucharal city. A criminal case has been opened, and a pre-trial investigation is underway.
