The Kazakhstan men's national team has made history by reaching the 1/8 finals of the World Team Table Tennis Championship, currently taking place in London, reports Todayinfo.
In the 1/16 finals, our team played against Spain.
In the first match, Alan Kurmangaliyev defeated Alvaro Robles with a score of 3:1.
Kirill Gerasimenko extended the lead by beating Juan Perez (3:1).
However, the Spanish athletes narrowed the gap: Daniel Berzosa defeated our Aidos Kenzhigulov (3:1).
Towards the end, Kazakhstan's Kirill Gerasimenko secured the victory over Alvaro Robles with a score of 3:0.
The final score was 3:1. Our team will compete against the winner of the Japan – Belgium match for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Earlier, the women's team concluded its performance at the World Championship. In the 1/16 finals, the Kazakhstani women lost to Sweden with an overall score of 1:3.
