A storm warning has been issued across Kazakhstan for May 12, reports Todayinfo.
According to Kazhydromet, on May 12, the country is expected to experience frosts, heavy rains, thunderstorms, and a high risk of fire.
In Astana, frosts of 1-3 degrees Celsius are expected at night. North-westerly, westerly winds will have gusts of 15-20 meters per second in the morning and afternoon.
In Almaty, heavy rain is expected at night, with occasional thunderstorms. In the mountainous areas of Ile-Alatau (mountain zones of Medeu and Bostandyk districts of Almaty), precipitation, at times heavy (rain, snow), is expected at night, with rain during the day. Occasional thunderstorms are also forecast. South-westerly winds will have gusts of 15-20 meters per second.
In Shymkent, north-easterly winds will have gusts of 15-20 meters per second.
In the Almaty region, heavy rain is expected at night in the south, with occasional heavy precipitation (rain, snow) in mountainous areas. Thunderstorms are forecast in the south and mountainous areas. South-westerly winds, shifting to north-easterly in the south, east, foothills, and mountainous areas of the region, will have gusts of 15-20 meters per second. High fire danger persists in the north and center of the region. In Konaev, rain and thunderstorms are expected at night. High fire danger also remains.
In the Kyzylorda region, a dust storm is expected in the center, south, and east. North-easterly, easterly winds in the center, south, and east of the region will reach 15-20 meters per second. High fire danger persists in the north, south, and center of the region, with extreme fire danger in the east.
