An Astana court has reviewed the case of a student who staged an indecent photoshoot in front of the Baiterek monument, one of the capital's main attractions, reports Todayinfo.
Images circulated on social media showing a young man lying on the ground and making an obscene gesture against the backdrop of the Baiterek monument. Social media users expressed outrage at the Kazakhstani's behavior, considering it a display of disrespect for society.
Earlier, the Astana police reported that the 19-year-old resident was detained, and an administrative protocol was drawn up under Article 434 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 'Petty Hooliganism.' The case was then sent to court.
The specialized interdistrict court for administrative offenses found citizen K. guilty of petty hooliganism under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The offender's actions involved creating an indecent visual gesture using the Baiterek monument, which demonstrates clear disrespect for society and a violation of generally accepted norms of behavior, — the court's press service stated.
In court, the young man fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse for his actions. Nevertheless, the court sentenced him to 5 days of administrative arrest.
