The Head of State took part in the republican environmental action "Taza Kazakhstan". Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, together with eco-activists, planted trees in the "Samal" park in the capital.
The President was briefed on the work done by the heads of responsible state bodies.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Yerlan Nysanbayev reported that over the two years since the start of the "Taza Kazakhstan" action, 1,500 environmental events have been organized. During this time, 2 million tons of waste were collected and about 5.5 million saplings were planted. Annually, 6.5 million people, including 780 thousand volunteers, participate in this initiative.
According to the minister, in 2021-2025, 1,648.4 million seedlings were planted on more than 1 million hectares to replenish the forest fund. In populated areas, 18.4 million trees were planted over five years. In the future, 46 eco-zones covering 1,760 thousand hectares will be created.
The event in the newly built Presidential Park in Kyzylorda was attended by the akim of the region Nurlibek Nalibayev, veterans and representatives of the intelligentsia, heads of law enforcement agencies, deputies of the regional and city maslikhats, heads and employees of regional departments, directorates and inspections, volunteers, eco-activists, youth organizations and students.
More than 25,000 people from districts and settlements of the region took part in the action, over 12,000 saplings were planted, 325.7 hectares of territory were cleaned, over 320 tons of waste were removed, and more than 250 pieces of equipment were involved.
In the region, comprehensive work is being carried out within the framework of the republican environmental action "Taza Kazakhstan" to create favorable living conditions for the population.
With the sponsorship of entrepreneurs, central squares, recreation areas, playgrounds and sports grounds are being renovated, residential buildings and social facilities are being repaired according to modern standards.
In Kyzylorda, the central square, the city cultural and recreation park, the Korkyt Ata memorial alley have been renovated, and the Presidential Park has been rebuilt. It features modern fountains, an amphitheater, sports, playground, dance, chess, basketball and football fields, a 50-meter Ferris wheel, bicycle and running tracks, and sanitary points. In total, more than 2,000 trees, more than 50,000 ornamental shrubs and 17 types of perennial flowers were planted on 31 hectares.
Currently, a modern children's recreation camp for 300 places worth 10 billion tenge, operating year-round, and a Botanical Education Center (winter garden) worth 5 billion tenge are being built on the territory of the Presidential Park. Soon, construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Syr Darya River worth 9 billion tenge, connecting the Presidential Park with the city, will begin.
These works continue in all districts; new recreation areas and alleys adorn the surroundings, and street landscaping and lighting works are being carried out.
In order to create a comfortable environment in villages and encourage residents to participate in cleaning activities, the "Ülgili eldi meken" (Exemplary Settlement) competition is held annually. Over the past three years, 2 billion 64 million tenge have been allocated, and 67 units of special equipment have been awarded to the best settlements.
In the field of effective management of solid household waste, its sorting, processing and disposal, 9 projects worth 98 billion 700 million tenge are being implemented with financing from JSC "Zhasyl damu". The solid waste sorting complex in Zhanakorgan district is fully funded, equipment has been delivered. It is currently being commissioned. The remaining 8 projects have passed the expertise of the "Industrial Development Fund", and relevant contracts for financing are being concluded.
At the expense of the regional budget, a solid household waste landfill with a sorting complex was opened in Syrdarya district for 475 million tenge. Two more new projects have been developed and passed state expertise, submitted to the sectoral ministry for financing.
In order to form a culture of waste sorting, about 10 thousand containers have been installed in the region. In multi-apartment residential buildings, large retail outlets, the airport and railway station areas, special eco-boxes are provided for separate collection of glass, plastic and paper waste.
In Kyzylorda, the facades of 83 old multi-apartment residential buildings have been updated with modern panels: these works were carried out for 58 houses at the expense of the budget (2 billion 893 million tenge) and for 27 houses at the expense of sponsors. This year, it is planned to clad the facades of an additional 21 residential buildings for 900 million tenge.
Formation of ecological culture among the population, environmental education and enlightenment are carried out within the framework of the projects "Zhasyl balabaqsha" (Green Kindergarten), "Zhas ekolog" (Young Ecologist), "Zhasyl mektep" (Green School), "Tabiğat saqshylary" (Guardians of Nature).
