Tengizchevroil has been fined 53.7 million tenge, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to the Department of Ecology of Atyrau region, Tengizchevroil LLP was found to have exceeded pollutant emission standards. As a result, administrative proceedings were initiated against the company and referred to the Zhylyoi District Court.
“Following the review of the cases, by a court decision dated April 20, 2026, Tengizchevroil LLP was found guilty and subjected to an administrative fine of 53.7 million tenge,” the statement said.
This serves as a reminder of the importance of strict compliance with environmental regulations. The company retains the right to appeal the decision.
