Weather forecasters warn of unstable weather in Kazakhstan during the May holidays. On April 30, heavy rain will hit the southwest and northwest, and on May 2, the south and southeast will be drenched. Hail is possible in some areas.
Dust storms are expected in the south, with fog in the mornings and nights. On April 30, northern and central regions will remain dry. Eastern regions will stay dry throughout the period.
At night, temperatures in many regions will drop to -3°C. Frosts will persist in the west throughout the period. The east and northwest will cool down on April 30, and the north on May 2.
“Daytime temperatures will vary greatly by region. The warmest will be in the east and southeast, where the air will warm up to +25...+32°C. In the southwest, +17...+22°C is expected, in the center +15...+25°C, in the northwest +13...+25°C. The coolest will be in the west, where the thermometer will only rise to +10...+15°C. In the north, +12...+18°C is expected, in the south +18...+23°C,” Kazhydromet specialists reported.
Earlier, on April 29, storm warnings were issued in 16 regions of Kazakhstan. Forecasters warned of fog, strong winds, and thunderstorms, with high fire danger persisting in many areas.
