In Kostanay region, a 56-year-old man was mistakenly recorded as deceased due to a data entry error, reports Todayinfo.kz citing TobolInfo.
According to the publication, local resident Vladimir Shremf visited the outpatient clinic of Auliekol District Hospital on March 30 to submit his mother's death certificate. However, a medical facility employee mistakenly entered the applicant's data into the database.
The man only learned that he was registered as deceased on April 2 — when he encountered difficulties using his digital signature and individual identification number.
Shremf immediately reported the error to the clinic, but as TobolInfo clarifies, the complaint to the health department was sent only several days later — on April 6.
Due to the erroneous record, the man was deprived of the ability to use temporary documents, drive a car, and carry out work activities.
To restore his rights, he turned to lawyer Dilnurat Sarsenov, who filed a complaint with the registering authorities to delete the erroneous record.
After nine days, the data was corrected, and re-issuance of documents was not required.
According to TobolInfo, the victim plans to file a lawsuit against the medical facility for moral damages.
