Akim of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek posted on his social media page showing the LRT on the home stretch and stated that the test trials are nearly complete and the system is ready for launch, reports Todayinfo.
Currently, the main work is focused not on the line itself but around it — finishing infrastructure and tidying up the area. Priority is given to ensuring convenient access to stations. Landscaping along the route will continue throughout the summer.
Plans include building adjacent roads and access routes, greening with a 'green corridor', installing lighting, and arranging public spaces under the overpass. Active work is underway on the section from Tauelsizdik Avenue to Nurly Zhol station.
'The functional readiness of the stations and approaches to them will be ensured shortly; the comprehensive formation of the landscape and architectural appearance under the LRT route will continue until the end of the summer season,' said Kassymbek.
Earlier, Astana residents complained about noise from the LRT, which is currently only being tested.
