An An-2 aircraft was damaged during landing in a mountainous area of Almaty region. A video from the scene of the incident spread on social media, reports Todayinfo.kz.
The footage shows the aircraft landing among trees and bushes on a mountain slope. The incident occurred in the Taldybulak – Karakemer area of Enbekshikazakh district. There are no airports nearby.
The Ministry of Transport confirmed that an aviation incident had occurred.
"In accordance with the Rules for providing information on aviation accidents and incidents and their investigation... the aviation incident involving the An-2 aircraft with registration number UP-A0091 was registered as an aviation accident (crash) without human casualties and will be investigated by the Department for Investigation of Accidents and Incidents in Transport of the Ministry of Transport," representatives of the agency explained.
According to the Ministry, the Department for Investigation of Accidents and Incidents in Transport has begun work to ascertain the circumstances of the incident. A department employee has been dispatched to the scene.
There were no fatalities as a result of the incident.
