The premiere of a new production of the opera 'Abai' by Kazakh composer Akhmet Zhubanov took place on the stage of Astana Opera. The performance was held in a hall filled with 800 spectators.
The lead role of Abai was performed by Dauren Abilkhan, winner of the international competition named after Amire Kashau bayev. Togzhan was played by Aigul Niyazova, Aitas by Yerzhan Sauranbay.
The production is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great educator. Future plans include a tour in Berlin, Paris and London.
