A court in Astana has sentenced a young resident who, while looking for a side job on Instagram, agreed to commit arson for $2,000, even though people were inside the house, reports Todayinfo.

The perpetrator threw pre-prepared incendiary devices at the residential building, creating a real threat to life and health. The crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond his control.

The court found him guilty of attempted destruction of another's property and, considering his prior unexpunged conviction, sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in prison.

The city prosecutor's office warns that participating in illegal schemes offered via social networks inevitably leads to criminal liability. By agreeing to dubious 'jobs,' citizens risk not only their own freedom but also the lives and safety of others.
