The Ministry of Education reported that from September 1 this year, 350 thousand children will go to first grade. This is 12 thousand more than last year.
In the new academic year, 47 new schools will open, 12 of them in the cities of Almaty, Astana and Shymkent. The rest are in regional centers.
The Ministry will also launch a special program to address the shortage of teachers. To attract young teachers to rural areas, a grant of 10 million tenge will be provided.
